A Highchair: More than just a place for food!

I'm sure you're all wondering if Nadia is eating "food" yet and the answer is nope. (And yes, she is that big on just formula!) I have discovered though, that a high chair is a VERY useful item when you have a baby and although Nadia is not yet eating solids she does spend a bit of time sitting in her high chair each day. The high chair is on wheels which allows me to wheel her wherever I am. She gets to be near me, allows her to have a change of scenery and gives me a chance to actually take a shower! Two thumbs up for the highchair! Eventually, we will be using the high chair for food too. We'll start compota in just 2 short weeks! Make sure you come back and read all about that. I'm sure I'll have some great stories to tell you!

Nadia's Kicks!

I realize we are jumping from birth to 3 and a half months old and I'm really sorry about that. Unfortunately apologizing is the most I can do for you. Like I said, I'm the mommy of an infant and I just don't have the time to catch you up! So, we''ll start from today and I'll keep you up to date from now on. PROMISE!
Today, Nadia wore shoes for the first time. I've been really undecided about the whole shoe thing to be honest with you. I really want my kid to look cute, but at the same time- I'm not into baby torturing either. I debated holding off on shoes until Nadia was ready to stand, BUT the kid had these absolutely adorable Converse given to her by her "Ina" (my sister Vane, who is Nadia's Godmother-to-be). How could I pass up having her wear these kicks?!?!

Please welcome me to the blog world...

I am approaching the world of blogging very very carefully... I've thought about it for a while, but wasn't sure I wanted to take steps in this direction. Why, you ask- well because once I commit myself to something, I REALLY commit. And committing to this blog is adding an extra task to my life. And really, does a woman with an infant really need any extra unnecessary tasks? That being said, I think blogging seems like a great way to keep track of Nadia and all the amazing things she is doing each and every day. I want to share my baby with the world (yes, it's because I think she's that amazing!) and so this is why I decided to finally give in and create this blog...

And so, I guess it's polite (and proper) to start with a brief introduction. I am Mari, married to Lazaro. We have been married for 5 years and together for 10. On November 13th, 2008 at 3:07am we welcomed Nadia Gladys into the world. She is the most amazing, unbelievable, precious thing to ever ever ever happen to our lives. Today, Nadia is 3 months and 2 weeks old and weighs in at a whooping 15 pounds and 11 ounces! Yes- we have a big healthy girl on our hands. She is super delicious and I have to hold myself back from taking a bite out of her delicious thighs and cheeks on a daily basis.
I hope you will enjoy checking in and following along with Nadia as she grows and learns (and I grow and learn right along with her)!
